Search and comparison tools

County search runs in your browser against a data file downloaded from this website. Typing a search does not send the text to a search provider. We do not require user accounts. The site’s own tools do not set cookies or use browser local storage.

Shared comparison links contain county GEOIDs and the selected unit. If you open a link with search or comparison parameters, those parameters form part of the requested URL and may appear in hosting logs. Do not put personal information into shared URLs.

Hosting and request information

The hosting service processes requests needed to deliver the website, which can include IP addresses, browser information, URLs, and timestamps. Such information may be logged for security, reliability, and troubleshooting.

Analytics

We use a self-hosted analytics service at stats.kzfm.com to count page views and understand which pages are useful. It records the page visited, the referring site, and general browser, device, and country information derived from the request. It does not set cookies, does not use advertising identifiers, and does not build profiles across other websites. The statistics are used only in aggregate to maintain and improve this site.

Email correspondence

If you email us, your address, message, and any attachments are processed to answer the request or investigate a correction. Do not send identity documents, property records containing personal information, or other sensitive material. You may ask about or request deletion of correspondence by contacting the address above, subject to any applicable retention obligations.

Advertising

Advertising is not currently enabled in this version of US County Area. We do not load Google advertising scripts. If advertising is enabled, this policy will describe the providers and data use, and the site will present applicable consent choices.

External services and downloads

County outlines and downloadable datasets are served from this site. Census, OpenStreetMap, Google privacy links, and email links open services with their own privacy policies. An external map is not embedded automatically.

Your choices and requests

You can use the state directories without search, download data for offline use, and contact us about personal information associated with correspondence. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing, withdraw consent, or complain to your local data protection authority.
